Project 8 Process Post
This is my 2nd full project in pen and ink and I decided to approach this one using things I learned with my previous one along with approaching the composition from a narrative perspective first and using that to create the piece rather than starting with a composition and trying to imbue it with meaning. for this piece I wanted to explore societal ignorance and society ignoring issues right in front of them. This piece was the first time I decided to make a proof of concept

Project 7 Process Post
This piece is a change of pace from previous ones, with my goal being to implement more of a narrative focus along with me trying pen and ink. Overall, I would say I am decently proud of it, it could use some technical improvement but as a first attempt I would say I like the result. There was a lot I learned from it and looking at my work as more of a narrative piece has definitely changed how I approach composition. This was my initial sketch, overall I would say this was

Project 5 Process Post
I spent the first studio day planning my composition and what details to work on a long with which artists to study By the End of the 3rd studio day I got my primary sketch done and was ready to move onto shading. Overall I feel like I have gotten a better grasp at contouring and replicating compositions. By the end of the 4th studio day I finished up some preliminary shading along with using water soluble graphite to shade the trees. This was definitely a learning experien

Project #4 Process Post
For this project, I wanted to continue with Graphite and try to work with it more and apply more depth to my drawings. After much planning, I decided to go with this composition and roughed it out on my first work day. On the second studio day I worked on further refining my preliminary sketch and getting the forms down. I ended up pushing the depth a bit more by including more overlap and starting working on the shading. On my 3rd studio day I worked on finishing up the head

Career Blog Post: Comic Illustrators
Comic Artists/Mangaka, and more specifically Comic/Manga Illustrators work is to illustrate comics. However this in itself incorporates many other unique elements due to the nature of the job. Additionally, deadlines are usually much tighter with Comic Artists a

Inktober(1-10)
I decided to try an actually do Inktober this year. So far its been fun, some of the prompts aren't my favorite, but they do provide for a nice change of pace. Overall, I enjoyed the first two prompts, though I'd like to work on "Weave" some more and experiment with it. I liked working on "Crown", and it definitely fits more with subjects I tend to draw, although I wish I experimented some more with the prompt. I kind of stopped working on the prompt halfway through and will

Career Blog Post: Tattoo Artist
The name is pretty self explanatory, but a tattoo artist tattoos people. Unlike other artistic professions, there is a lot more responsibility attached to being a tattoo artist due to its permanent nature, such as ensuring your clients are of age to receive a tattoo, and ensuring your clients will like the product and that your craft is of a high enough standard. Also, you must pay attention to sterilization, differing coloration due to skin tone, and allergens. As a result

Project #2 Process Post
For my first project I wanted to experiment with a more floral subject and test out oil paints. My idea behind this artwork was the diversity of life, and how varied it can be in one location. 9/22/2025 I unfortunately forgot to take a photo of this, but for my 2nd studio day(1st studio day was planning) I worked on establishing the background gradient. On the 3rd studio day I planned out the forms located on the lower half of the canvas and establishing the basic shapes. 9

Figure Drawing Workshop
We had the pleasure of doing a figure drawing workshop for 6 classes with Tommy Van Auken and a model. Overall it was a very good experience and it's always a good experience to draw from life as I feel like you notice a lot of small things and interactions between the body. It was a very educational experience overall and also a good exercise in mark making and line searching These are some of the sketches I made on the first day, it was definitely a good warm up and helpe
