For my first project I wanted to experiment with a more floral subject and test out oil paints. My idea behind this artwork was the diversity of life, and how varied it can be in one location.

I unfortunately forgot to take a photo of this, but for my 2nd studio day(1st studio day was planning) I worked on establishing the background gradient. On the 3rd studio day I planned out the forms located on the lower half of the canvas and establishing the basic shapes.

For my 4th studio day I focused on defining some of the forms and foliage on the lower half. I finished the most and worked on adding details to the pitcher plants and bushes.

On the 5th studio day I started working on the upper half of the composition and decided to add more detail and form to the background to add more interest and balance the composition.

On the 6th studio day I tried to finish up the top composition. I worked on adding the flowers and grass along with defining the tree branch and adding more floral patterns to the background.

I worked on my project after school to add the finishing touches. Today I tried to finish up the flowers and add some details to them along with adding highlights to the pitcher plants. Overall, today was mostly just touch-ups and finishing up the flowers.

On my last workday, I worked on defining the more obscure forms and touched up some edges along with adding the final highlights. Additionally, I worked on adding more texture to the tree branch.
