Project #4 Process Post

For this project, I wanted to continue with Graphite and try to work with it more and apply more depth to my drawings.

After much planning, I decided to go with this composition and roughed it out on my first work day.

On the second studio day I worked on further refining my preliminary sketch and getting the forms down.

I ended up pushing the depth a bit more by including more overlap and starting working on the shading.

On my 3rd studio day I worked on finishing up the head and front legs as well as pushing the shadows on the tail. Additionally, I decided to make the wings slightly translucent.

I worked on the piece at home, and was able to finish the wings and tongue to a good enough extent for the critique, however I did not really have time to finish the figure and will go back to this project later to add the finishing touches.
